Blood Drive and Temple Trip

On August 23rd we had a great blood drive in conjunction with the Japanese Red Cross and the American Red Cross.  A big shout out to our missionaries from the Iwakuni District who stepped up and served as translators/interpreters during the process.  It was a great opportunity for service for them.  We processed about 80 donors and were able to collect over 50 units.

Our very own "cookie dolly" for the American Red Cross!

August 25th was a great day for us.  Early that morning we headed to Fukuoka on the shinkansen for a meeting with all of the senior missionary couples in the Japan Fukuoka Mission.  We met at the mission home located beneath the Fukuoka Japan Temple, and after getting to know each other a bit, went through a Temple session.  After that it was a great lunch and then an opportunity to get to know the other senior couples a little better.  To our surprise, we discovered that Sister and Elder Regan were not only a former Navy family, but also a Navy corpsman, laboratory technician, but that we were in the same ward (16th Ward) in San Diego from 1979-82.  We're both so old that we really didn't recognize each other!  LOL!
